Knowledge of what needs to be studied so learning is focused

Group learning motivates and introduces healthy competition

These Intensive Revision sessions include:

Weekend programmes

Holiday programmes

37 hrs of revision sessions are carried out in small groups. There are a range of activities (including group activities) so that each student has his or her own learning programme in the revision session.  Tutor differentiation ensures that each student is able to revise at their own pace. As part of the application, students will complete a questionnaire sheet which will initially help to identify areas required for revision.

Revision is focused and targeted towards understanding different types of examination questions and how to answer these questions to get maximum marks. Students will work through past papers independently and as a group to identify areas of strength and areas that require further learning and understanding. Group teaching will help to pull together common misconceptions and mistakes and rectify these in group discussions and learning.

Student evaluation at the end of each session is carried out to assess learning and inform the tutoring programme in the next session. Agreement on what needs to be revised for the next session will enable both student and tutor to identify what needs to be tutored to fill gaps in knowledge. Parents/Guardians will receive ongoing feedback on progress. It is important for an effective revision programme that home study in between sessions plays an integral part. Students are advised to use the feedback from each session to improve learning and understanding.

Students should bring their own refreshments for the revision sessions.
